PROJECTS

For Rotarians, it's Service Above Self

Rotarians are proud of the service and charitable projects that we sponsor throughout the year as we use our hands and hearts to help others.

We host Community fundraisers.  All proceeds are contributed to charitable projects and student scholarships.

We recently donated $25,000 for the completion of Jake's Field of Dreams, an all-inclusive playground at Heartland Park in Wentzville.

We have supported Crossroads Clinic/Volunteers in Medicine to assist with providing quality healthcare for the uninsured in our area.

We have provided financial assistance for transportation for area senior citizens.

We support international projects.  We have provided funds for club member Paul Moore DDS, as he has performed dental procedures among the poor in Honduras.

3 times in recent years, we have purchased computers for children in orphanages in Peru, an effort supported by a team of professionals that included club member Jim Petersen.

We host visiting group study exchange teams and peace scholars from other countries.

We sponsor a Charity Golf Tournament.  The money we raise funds scholarships or supports charitable and educational projects.

We have assumed the responsibility of cleaning up a section of Meyer Road, near Rotary Park, as part of the "Adopt-a-Street" Program for the City of Wentzville, and also have participated in Mission Clean Stream, picking up debris.

We deliver Meals on Wheel to the Wentzville East area every Thursday.

We help collect supplies for agencies helping young mothers and children in the annual April Showers Drive in St. Charles County.

We volunteer to work the gate at the St. Charles County Fair every July.

We host an annual Beer, Wine, & Food Festival to raise funds for charities.

We sell Old Newsboy editions in late November and ring the Salvation Army bells in December.

We buy and deliver clothing and gifts to children in the Wentzville community at the Christmas season.

The club supports literacy programs and has provided a starter classroom library to new district teachers.

We have established a Memorial at Rotary Park that includes engraved blocks, each with the name of a fellow Rotarian who died while maintaining club membership. A club meeting is held at the Memorial once each year.

Our members support over 20 local charities, church, or civic with contributions from their "wheel spins" each quarter of the year.  Members with perfect attendance are given a spin of the wheel.  They then donate the amount of money they spin, up to $100, for the charities or organizations they have chosen.

We fund 9 scholarships for Wentzville students each spring and also support students who attend Boys and Girls State.

We host exchange students from other nations and also help support Wentzville area students who wish to become "outbound" exchange students for the summer or a full year.
